Fusion Fashion Show was an annual competition that pitted the most talented students from the Fashion Institute of Technology against Parsons the New School for the coveted title of “Best Fashion Design School” of the year. In 2013 I was selected as 1 of 2 Freshmen out of over 300 applicants to represent FIT alongside designers Mike Oliu, Ky Luu, Ahra Gho, Matthew Hardwoodstone, and Peter Do.
Inspired by “Grave Of The Fireflies” my collection embraced the concept of finding beauty in the darkest time. I combined opposing concepts, mixing fabrics like sequined silk chiffons, and hammered silk satins with iridescent brocades and gold chains.
